Marriage Ministry

Marriage Ministry Thornapple Covenant Church is committed to helping, encouraging and supporting marriages. We have developed ministry to positively impact marriages, whether they are healthy or hurting. 

The Marriage Course: What is the Marriage Course? The Marriage Course is for any couple who wants to invest in their relationship, whether you have been together 1 or 61 years and whether you have a strong relationship or are struggling.

We typically offer a Marriage Course in the Fall and Winter.  If you are interested in signing up for the next course, contact Marny Danz at mdanz@thornapple.org or 957-0580.

The Marriage Course consists of seven session course set in a fantastic atmosphere. First you will be served a delicious meal and dessert. Then you listen to practical Marriage Course talks that are informative and fun. There is never any group work and you will never be asked to share anything about your relationship with anyone other than your partner. Over seven sessions of the course you will discover practical tools to help you:

• understand each other’s needs
• communicate more effectively
• grow closer through resolving conflict
• heal the ways you’ve hurt each other
• recognise how your upbringing affects your relationship
• improve relationships with parents and in-laws
• develop greater sexual intimacy
• discover each other’s love languages and much, much more!

The aim of The Marriage Course is to help couples grow closer and build a healthy relationship that will last a lifetime. Those interested should contact Marny Danz at the church at 957-0580 or by e-mail at mdanz@thornapple.org. Life Groups can take this course together as well.

Counseling: Counseling is also available through the church ministry staff or recommendations can be made of local counselors. Contact a member of the pastoral staff if you are interested in marriage counseling.
